Mono-Two-Piece

Is it a dress?

No, it is my monochrome two-piece.

  1. Have to admit, I've been a little unsure about the matching two-piece idea, but think this shows that it can work. What do you think? Will you wear them out together or keep as separates?

    1. I might wear this 'out in the real world' as a two piece because to be truthful - it really does look like a dress and I don't really know what my trepidation was to wear two matching patterned items of clothing? Its kind of a fun way to boost the me-made wardrobe as separates but with the bonus of having a matchy-matchy outfit too.

  2. Looks good!
I was thinking about your comment on my Polly top. I was wondering if taking a couple of cms out of the centre front as well as/ instead of the side seams might fix any gapeing. Mine still gapes if the straps don't sit right on my shoulders.

    1. Hi Tamsin - yes that is a great idea about a centre front seam - I won't be able to do that on my Polly top due to the placement of the rose / floral design. I think it would be too noticeable.
Maybe on my next one (if there ever will be) I could take a section out of the centre front so its not as wide? Might be possible to do seen as though it doesn't take up too much fabric.

  3. This is so cool ! I love the concept. I guess the trick is in finding a fabric that will work just as well for both top and skirt.

  4. This looks fantastic! And I love that you have two separate pieces to mix and match with other projects, as well as a coordinated outfit.

    1. Thanks Sue. I had quite a bit of the black dots fabric so I thought I may as well give it a go!
